Steven started out as a young gymnast in China, winning a national title at the age of 13. After a bad injury he took up coaching the sport of diving where his athletes competed at Grand Prix, World Cups and Olympic Games. Steven was DNZ's Coach of the Year and also the New Zealand Coach to FINA Grand Prix Events and the World Cup.

Li Feng Yang arrived in Wellington on Wednesday 9th June to take up an assistant coaching role with WHPA. Feng Yang was a diver for 10 years winning at national level in springboard events. For the last two years he has been coaching at Shandong and Shanxi Provincial Sports Centres in the Junior Diving programmes. Some of his junior divers have had great success at national youth championships winning gold medals in synchro events as well as springboard and platform events. Between coaching he has been doing ‘Show Diving’ at the Olympic Pool in Beijing.

Started diving at the age of 8, for Bradford Esprit School of Diving in England. James came to New Zealand in 2002 where he is the head coach at the Wellington Diving Club.

Yu has recently been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2011 Asia Pacific Rim Junior Diving Invitational in August. Yu is the youngest diver in the team.

Beth started diving at the age of 10. Her goal is to learn a full set of back line-ups and she is focussing on New Zealand and Australian competitions in 2011!
